We all know that the divorce rate is very discouraging and that many marriages that don’t end in divorce are still just barely holding together.

But we want ROCKHARBOR marriages to be much more than just held together. We want Jesus to be enthroned in our marriages in such a way that sets them apart for the sake of the Gospel. We want to see a community filled with these sorts of compelling marriages. Through courses, conferences and mentoring relationships, we are learning how to have compelling marriages.

Our marriage conference attempts to alter the contours of our marriages. Whether it is delightful or difficult, we want our marriages to become a doorway to deeper intimacy with God.

This  year’s Marriage Conference was be on March 6 and 7, 2015. Our keynote speaker was  Dan Allender, author of the books Intimate Allies and The Intimate Mystery, and a renowned Christian therapist and speaker on marriage and leadership. Come back soon for more information on next year’s marriage conference.

We’re always looking for couples interested in sharing the lessons of their life together as mentors who walk together with newly married couples. If you’ve seen God work within your marriage and have been married for at least three years, we invite you to consider the ways God can use you to bless the beginning of other couples’ lives together. Each year, we have training classes to prepare you to walk together with another couple. The training includes: conflict resolution and communication skills, systems for dealing with personality differences, spiritual oneness, gender differences, family difficulties, and finances.

It isn’t unusual to hit a pot hole on your marriage journey. Sometimes it is a small bump and at other times it is so jarring as to cause an all out whiplash. You may believe you just have to live with the bump, or you may be ready to leave your marriage altogether. We believe God wants your marriage to be a blessing to you and the world.  He has the power but we often need counseling to overcome our problems. While we don’t have the resources to do ongoing counseling, we do provide referral resources. If you’d like a referral , please contact our marriage ministry team.
