Haiti Earthquake | 2010

On Tuesday, January 12, 2010 a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the nation of Haiti with upwards of 100,000 lives lost, thousands wounded, trapped, desperate for medical supplies, countless more without food, water, or shelter. In all, an estimated 3 million people were affected by this tragedy.

The ROCKHARBOR community joined together to help meet practical, physical and spiritual needs. A medical response and care team of volunteers from within our community organized themselves and travelled to Haiti, where they set up the first tent hospital in the area and responded to hundreds of wounded. Prayer marked their trip in beautiful ways as our team also specifically prayed for each person who received medical treatment.

The weekend after the earthquake, RH raised $50,000 as an initial corporate response that was given to Food For The Hungry and their Haiti designation fund.
