who is ROCKHARBOR? above all, our identity is in God. we exist to serve and bring glory to Him. we are a church only because He brought us together and shaped us into what we are today.

as God has led and grown us, His mission for our church has gradually become clear. here is who we believe God has called us to be:

ROCKHARBOR is a community being transformed by Christ to be a catalyst for changing lives.

that’s the nutshell version. broken down, here’s a little of what that means...

ROCKHARBOR is a community...
more than a building, a name, or a weekend gathering, ROCKHARBOR is a community of people. we are living together the adventure for which God created us: pursuing Christ and being changed by Him. at RH, "community" is more than just a passive synonym for "group". it’s connection and relationship built on shared purpose and passion. it happens in weekly celebration services; life groups during the week; teams that pray, serve, lead, and reach out together; and partnerships with other churches and organizations.

...being transformed by Christ...
God doesn’t want us to stay the same. in fact, He tells us to "be transformed through the renewing of our minds". ROCKHARBOR is a community of seekers and learners. we’re seeking to know God better, hear His voice, and learn to respond to Him with our lives. the more we seek Him, the more God reveals of Himself—and of who He wants us to be.

...to be a catalyst for changing lives...
God’s movement has always been revealed through lives He has changed and then used to influence others. as God changes and refines ROCKHARBOR, He calls us to invest all that we are into being catalysts for other lives and churches that need change. to this end, we constantly seek out, and try out, new ways of effectively reaching today’s generations with the Good News that’s been true for centuries.

:: our guiding verse ::
"therefore, i urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."   romans 12:1-2 [NIV]
