how are you praying for RH fullerton?

in 9 days, the ROCKHARBOR fullerton campus will begin. it's right around the corner and things are really coming together nicely. as we look toward our first gathering, we want to invite you to join us in praying over this campus. starting this sunday, february 21, we will begin 24/7 prayer where you will be able to sign up for an hour time slot to pray for the fullerton campus until it launches on the 28th.

the past few days I've been able to get away to spend some time with a mentor, to pray for you and the campus. my prayers seem to keep centering around three words: identity, belonging, and mission.

my prayer is that people will come to find an identity that is deeply rooted in Jesus Christ...that they will discover a true sense of belonging where they can carry one another, grieve with one another, celebrate one another, and actually know one another...and that together we will all strive to live lives that demand explanation.

how are you praying for the campus? would you share your prayers here in preparation for the launch...

  1. If you would like to meet some of our new neighbors, and you're free on Friday night, you might want to check out the first Fullerton Art Walk. It will be held downtown, all the galleries are open and local artists will be there to talk about their work. It would be fun to get to know both business and residences alike. For more info: http://fullertonartwalk.com/
  2. Simply put, my prayer is Jeremiah 29:5-7 "Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." It is my prayer that we learn to truly engage the cities in which God has placed us, in some of, and more of the tangible ways Caitlin mentioned. Be involved. Dig deep. Be available.
  3. I keep going to the Fullerton City Webpage and praying over ideas from the current news stories. So, for example, praying over the upcoming farmer's markets that we can join in as a community there and make some friends. Or, they are electing a few new city officials, and I prayed for RH to connect with elected officials to find out how we can best serve what's already going on in Fullerton, etc.
  4. My prayer is that this would be an open-handed community. I pray that with those open hands we will offer of ourselves to those in need, to those who are hurting, & to those who are searching. With that thought of being open-handed will hopefully also include a posture of willingness to allow the Lord to do what He wills with this community of Christ-followers & that we could approach His throne on a weekly basis with no agenda & with open hearts, minds, souls, & hands.
  5. my prayer is that we'd be a haven for the unchurched, the over-churched, the hopeful, and the hopeless, that we'd be Christ to the people of North County...and also gather for an hour and a half each sunday.
  6. my prayer is that this community would be a very real picture of what it means to be Jesus' church. i pray that we would be people that live lives in such a way that we compel those in fullerton and all over north orange county to ask questions about who Jesus is and why we have given our lives to Him.
