In the jungle, the mighty jungle…

….the lion didn’t sleep, at least the team didn’t see any lions on the sunset safari. BUT they did see lots of elephants, zebras, giraffe’s, warthogs, etc as they cruised throughout the preserve land in the bus. A few of the Lion King songs were probably sung at some point in time too. They then spent the night at the Paraa Safari lodge along the Nile River…it had absolutely amazing views and HOT, RUNNING water! sweeet! The girls must have been very excited.

In the morning they took a few hour boat ride up the Nile River to Murchison falls….on the way the team was able to see lots of hippos and crocs hanging out along the shore (from the boat). It was pretty thrilling to see these animals first hand in the “wild”! After crossing the Nile in the ferry the team then continued on to Kampala. They ended up having a reunion with the Gaba team at the guest house….dinner, sharing and worship. Apparently there was lots of laughter which lead to the girls going to bed giddy.

According the Garrett the team seems to be debriefing and processing things well. It is completely normal for it to take some time for the team members to process all they saw and experienced. Most likely they witnessed poverty and suffering to a level that most American’s have never seen, and at the same time, they saw God work in amazingly awesome ways. SOO00, that is the part of the purpose in the fun of the safari…a little time to debrief before being shoved back into their hectic lives at home.

The team is just now waking up at the guest house in Entebbe. After having breakfast, they will pack up their things, do a few hours of shopping in a touristy area (surely the girls are disappointed about that) and then will be flying out at 4:15PM.

We will let you know when they arrive in Dubai. From Dubai they should be arriving in LAX around 1:55PM on Sunday, Emirates flight 215. It will take probably take at least 45 minutes to get their bags and go through customs, so plan your pick ups accordingly!
