Identity
At some point, each of us faces the truth that the world was not how it was intended. We were not how we were intended.
In view of the hopelessness around us…
In view of the insecurities in us…
In view of the pain that surrounds us…
We begin to ask…Who am I?
Many people will spend their whole lives pursuing this question. But Jesus invaded this broken world to be the answer.
In the midst of our striving,
In the midst of our searching,
In the midst of our facades,
God’s love crashes through the identities we’ve created and declares…
“You are mine.”
Chosen. Adopted. Redeemed. Sons & Daughters of the King. New Creations.
At ROCKHARBOR, we believe this is to inform how we live. In view of who Jesus is and what He’s done, we are called to take off our old identities, leaving behind all the pursuits and lies that came with them. And we are called to put on the new identity He’s has given us, choosing to pursue who God says we are and what that means for our lives.
Identity Initiatives
Here are some of the ways ROCKHARBOR is embracing our identity in Jesus this year:
New Teaching Series
Starting this Fall, all RH Campuses will begin a new teaching series that will take us through the entire Bible over this next year. As people that are aiming to live out the Gospel together, we must be communities anchored in the Scriptures. As we study this Book together, more and more we hope to embrace who God says He is and who He says we are in the midst of this story He is writing.
RHU
RHU will continue to offer “Foundations” – a series of 5 classes designed to train us in the foundational elements of the Christian faith. Each class imparts Biblically-grounded knowledge in a particular area and works alongside the other four to create a cohesive whole. In completing the entire track, we will not only have a well-rounded idea of the fundamentals of Christianity, but will come away with the tools necessary to think Biblically on a wide range of issues not specifically covered in the classes.
The classes range in length from 4-7 weeks, are each offered once a year, and may include a small fee to cover materials. Here are the titles:
Spiritual Formation
Bible Foundations
Sharing & Defending the Faith
Theology & Practice of Prayer
Theology Foundations

The Box @ 345 Fischer Ave., RH Central Campus
Life with God is an 8-week course that presents the essentials for a vibrant life with God. We’ll study the big story of God, the part we play in it, and the tools needed for spiritual growth. Each night includes both large-format teaching as well as smaller table discussions. This course is designed for those who feel stuck or ill-equipped in their life with God.

Life Group Curriculum
Starting this Fall, our Life Groups will pilot a new curriculum anchored in Scripture and designed to stretch our understanding of who we are in Jesus and what it means to pursue Him with our whole lives.
